Built 1849 The Spinning Wheel building Home of Septimus Warner, known as The Italian Cottage. Grade 11 Listed building.

  • Later owned and operated by Broxbourne Borough Council.
  • For a time, building provided offices for local CAB and some flats on upper floor.
2005 Broxbourne Arts Forum investigated possibility of leasing building for an Arts Centre to replace Lowewood. Unavailable as designated for offices.

  • Pool Closed at end of 2008 because of refurbishment / running costs.
  • Temporary synthetic Ice Rink in car park for Christmas season.
  • Golf Foundation has an office in the building.
2009 Borough of Broxbourne official states "No guarantee that site won't be used for housing"

Lea Valley Leisure Pool (Broxbourne Lido)

1998 £4.5 million refurbishment
Sept 2008 Lea Valley Leisure Pool Closed "Needs too much public money to bring it up to modern standards."
  • Now site used as a Borough Pay and Display Car Park
  • May be developed for possible multi-leisure use

Hoddesdon Brewery Indoor Swimming Pool

1898 Opened to public for use during the summer months. In winter, the area was boarded over and used for dances etc.
